Starring for Cesis, the 6'3" forward is averaging 16.9 points per game and had a double-double of 30 points and 11 rebounds versus Ruta of the Lithuanian League and dropped 26 against DU/Swedbank. Zellous to the WNBA All-Rookie Team!
Wow, what a year for Shavonte Zellous! She's just been named to the adidas 2009, WNBA All-Rookie Team and she wasn't even a starter. To add to this prestigious award, Zellous finished third in the WNBA, Sixth Woman of the Year race. Just two votes shy of a unanimous rookie choice, Shavonte really turned it on toward the end of the season to push the defending champion, Detroit Shock into the playoffs. Congratulations Ms. Zellous!!
